Student Part Time Employment
Students desiring part time employment should check with the college's business office to place their name on the part time employment list. The student may also check the student information board located in the A. E. Rambo Center for local community part time jobs.
College Work Study (CWS)
Federal College Work-Study (FCWS) is designed to help defray indirect educational college expenses. Students must first apply for financial aid to demonstrate financial need. A limited number of jobs are available on campus. In addition there are a limited number of community service opportunities available for eligible students attending the college. Jobs will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis, and demonstrated need. If a student is interested he or she should contact the financial aid office located in the Administration wing of Technical Center. Students may also check the student announcement board located in the main lobby of the A. E. Rambo Center.
Graduate Career Placement Services
Employment
guidance is furnished by the college to aid graduating students and
alumni in acquiring suitable job placement. Interviews are conducted
both on and off campus and are open to all students who are in their
final semester and to alumni. Although the college provides placement
assistance there is no guarantee of employment. Students will learn
more about the services in their job search class where they will
learn to write resumes, write letters of inquiry and acceptance and
conduct themselves in an interview.
A. E. Rambo Center Library
A technical reference library is
available on campus in the A.E. Rambo Center. The
facility maintains technical reference manuals,
technical reference books, journals, general
literature, as well as daily newspapers and
periodicals. There are also six (6) computer
workstations with access to a laser printer for
student use. All volumes in the library are on
a computer database and are accessible from all
computer workstations throughout the college campus.
Odell Library
Also available to the
students is the Odell Library. The Odell Library provides all
students with access to the Quad Link computer terminal. This
service provides the student with access to all libraries within
the River Bend Library system including both municipal, college
and industrial library sites. Students may order reference
material directly on line.
Tutors
The college provides free of charge tutoring services for any student desiring additional assistance in a course. The tutors are college student who have shown high skills in particular academic areas and are paid by the college to aid students in those areas of excellence. Any student desiring additional help in a course should first contact their instructor who will arrange tutoring assistance either through a student assigned tutor or directly through themselves. In addition, there are software media available in the Rambo Center Library which may also be of assistance. All staff maintain office hours which will allow students to seek their assistance as well.
