Academics
The college offers a two year, Associate in Applied Science degree in Engineering Technology with two areas of concentration: Highway and Building Construction, and Drafting Design and CAD. The college also offers a program in Networking Administration.
ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY
This program has a very open architecture to permit students to concentrate their technical electives in the area of their interest, either in Construction or the Computer Aided Drafting & Design field.
Construction Option
In
the construction
option
technical electives
will include subject matter in areas such as:
architectural CAD, soils and materials testing,
AutoCAD and Microstation CAD and surveying.
Students who elect the construction concentration
often do the following jobs after graduation: project inspection,
materials inspection and testing, CAD operation, drafting, project
design, preparation of project specifications, project supervision,
technical sales, surveying, and project estimation. Usually these jobs
are with construction or contracting firms, architectural and
engineering firms, surveying firms, drafting and design shops,
government agencies, pre-fabrication manufacturing firms, and similar.
Computer Aided Drafting & Design Option
In
the Drafting Design CAD area technical electives
will include subject matter in mechanical design,
AutoCad and Unigraphics CAD, and material
properties. Students who elect the Drafting Design concentration
often do the following jobs after graduation: CAD operation and
supervision, design drafting, preparation of specifications, product
or project design, technical sales, quality control, materials
inspection and testing, and management. Usually these jobs are with
manufacturing firms, engineering firms, government agencies, drafting
and design shops, machine welding shops, foundries, product
development firms, and similar industries.

NETWORKING ADMINISTRATION
Networking or system administrators design,
setup, support and troubleshoot the computer networks of an
organization. They also train and support
system users, install hardware and software,
troubleshoot network problems, and maintain and
monitor the network's security system. System
administrators also monitor existing networks to
ensure the network, software and computer work
together properly. They monitor network
performance and recommend possible future network
needs.
This programs
provides instruction in such areas as: Basic
computer operations, Computer hardware, operating
systems, troubleshooting, Internet fundamentals, LAN
based network and equipment and design and WAN
fundamentals. Pick on "Networking
